Reducers are the transition strips that finish off a hardwood floor where it meets up to carpet. These transitions are not generally used when the wood matches up to other hardwoods, tile, sheet vinyl, or vinyl plank / tile. Here’s what we use where:
T-molds: Use to transition hardwood to tile, brick, other wood.
Reducer: Use to transition hardwood to vinyl products or bare concrete.
Baby Threshold: Use to transition hardwood to carpet.
Stairnose: Use to transition hardwood at a step or edge.
These strips generally come 78” long so they can be split to finish off two doors. We have included a cost of $55 each for these transitions, but the price can vary. Prices are dependent on species and brand.
